What to expect
If you landed here, you may be wondering what you may be doing during your first class. Class will likely start with a warm-up, followed by some basic instruction on the fundamentals of Jiu Jitsu. You will learn about different positions, such as the mount, guard, and side control. You may also learn some basic submissions, such as the armbar and triangle choke.
Don't be afraid to ask questions. If you don't understand something, don't be afraid to ask your instructor or training partner for clarification.
Be respectful. Jiu Jitsu is a martial art, and it is important to show respect to your instructor and training partners. This means following the instructor's instructions, being gentle with your training partners, and tapping out when you are in a submission.
